Consultation
Dr McMillan provides a full consultation to discuss your concerns
about facial imperfections and complexion. She will provide advice
regarding the best treatment options and if treatment is to be
undertaken a pre & post treatment photograph will be mandatory.
Cost for consultation is £30, which will be redeemable against the
cost of any subsequent treatment.
If indicated Dr McMillan can provide a private prescription for
Retinova. This is a cream which can only be obtained by prescription
and which has been clinically proven to reduce irregular
pigmentation and fine lines caused by sun damage.

Botox®
Botox® is the number One treatment for fine lines and wrinkles in the USA.
It has been used safely for over 20years to treat medical problems such as eye squint and neck spasm.
It’s use in the field of cosmetics spans more than 10 years. Botox® (Botulinum toxin) in small doses
injected into the skin will cause paralysis of the muscles responsible for facial lines. Over the years
continued use of certain facial muscles will cause ‘’hyperactivity’’ lines in particular glabellar (frown
lines), forehead lines and crows feet. The amount of Botox® used will not completely inactivate the
muscles therefore facial expression remains possible and indeed desirable. As a result, lines will be
softened and with repeated treatments may even disappear entirely. The first treatment is generally
effective for between 4-6 months
Botox® is also used for the treatment of excessive sweating of the ampits, hands and feet
(hyperhidrosis). It is extremely effective in this indication and can transform the lives of individuals who
have suffered lifelong embarrassment due to this problem.

Dermal Fillers
Hyaluronic acid is a temporary implant into the skin and is used for lip augmentation, the reduction of
fine lines and wrinkles and facial contouring. The substance used by Dr McMillan is NASHA (Non-animal
stabilised hyaluronic acid), specifically the products Restylane® & Perlane®. These have minimal
potential to cause allergic reactions and are clinically proven to be safe and effective.
If lines are being treated the area is initially numbed with the application of local anaesthetic cream; the
substance is injected along the wrinkle to elevate it. The wrinkle becomes much less obvious and a
smoother, more youthful appearance is therefore obtained. Most treatments will be effective for up to 8
months.
In the case of lip augmentation it is usually desired to numb the lips completely by means of a dental
block, however, it is possible to perform this with the use of topical anaesthetic cream. The lips will be
made fuller and definition will be heightened to gain a gain a more attractive appearance. Most lip
augmentations will be effective for 6 months.

Dermal Peels
Dermal peels are an effective way of improving the tone and clarity of sun damaged skin and they can
also ameliorate acne scarring. Peels generally consist of a mild fruit acid, which exfoliates the surface
layer of the epidermis. The replacement skin has a fresher, more youthful appearance. Provided the skin
is properly cared for the results can be long-lasting.

Medical Microdermabrasion
The treatment that celebrities are raving about, and the latest buzzword in the aesthetics industry. This is
an intense exfoliation of the skin utilising Aluminium Oxide Crystals which buff the skin removing the top
